    GetEpic is a great resource for reading lots of fun stories online!

    Log In Directions:

    • Click Sign In
    • Select Students & Educators
    • Enter our Class Code: cvg8308
    • Select your child's name.

     

    Leveled Reader Stories

    Students can take a test on their leveled reader stories. You can access these stories on Bloomz. When you take tests on the leveled readers, please make sure to type in the "title" of the book, the "color" of the leveled reader, and type "MHE" (ex. The Wright Brother Blue MHE).

    Directions:

    • Click on the Media tab
    • Click on the Documents tab
    • Scroll down to the section of books that includes your child's color (orange, blue, green)
    • Select a leveled reader document

     

    Libby App

    You can borrow digital books and audiobooks from our local library! How cool is that!

    This is a free app available for Android, iOS (Apple), and Windows 10 devices or you can access it on your web browser. Your phone number is used to set up a library card if you do not already have one.

    Directions for Downloading the App:

    Android

    • Open the Play Store app
    • Type in Libby
    • Install the app
    • Follow the Libby app prompts

    Apple

    • Open the App Store app
    • Type in Libby
    • Install the app
    • Follow the Libby app prompts

  • AR (Accelerated Reader)

    Take tests on books in order to check your comprehension and build AR points!

    Log In Directions:

    • Click on "I'm a Student"
    • Enter your child's username and password (which were provided through Bloomz messenger)
    • Click on the orange block labeled "Accelerated Reader"
    • Enter the title of the book and click search
    • Select "Take Quiz" next to the book and press "Next" in the pop-up window
    • Click on "I read by myself" and turn the audio on if you would like it to read to your child (high level texts may not have this option).

    *If your child does not pass a test and would like to reread the book and retake the test or takes a different test than intended, please contact me so I can help you.

     

    Daily 5 Structure At Home

    These videos were created by the co-creator of the Daily 5 (a structure I use in the classroom). This resource is intended to help your child build independence in reading at home. Once your child is comfortable reading independently, you can start adding other activities such as math and writing, which would follow the same structure.
